LECTURE
EXERCISES
Exercise 1 : Bouncing Ball
1. Exercise Instructions
Defining & planning the movement of the ball before applying arcs to the bouncing ball. Timing, spacing, and arcs to be applied to the animation. The animation of the bouncing ball should also apply slow in and slow out to reduce any jerking of the animation flow.
Animation : 24fps
2. Process
Arc

3. Final
Timing, spacing, arcs, slow in and slow out applied and animated on "2" with clean up stroke and output.

Exercise 2 : Exercise 2 : Squash & Stretch Ball with Tail Animation
1. Exercise Instructions
Using Adobe Animate, you are required to animate a bouncing ball by applying squash and stretch principles that show elasticity of the material and giving it a life as a character through pose to pose animation method. Attached to the squashy and stretchy ball is a tail which you need to show its flexibility of motion by applying the principles of Drag, Follow Through and Overlapping action through a straight ahead animation method.
Applying the animation principles that you have learned on Week 2, Timing, Spacing, Slow in & Slow out and Arcs is required as part of the process.
Animation : 24fps
2. Process

Onion Skin - Ball
Squash and stretch applied to the bouncing ball and timing adjusted to achieve a smooth animation.
Important : Flow of tail animation should be connected after one another to achieve a smooth flow and connection of the animation.
3. Final
Timing, spacing, arcs, slow in and slow out applied and animated on "2" with clean up stroke and output. Flowthrough, squash and stretch were also applied in this exercise.

FEEDBACK
Week 3 - 07/10/2024
Specific (Exercise 1): Overall animation is good, no changes required. Suggestion from Mr Kamal to reduce the arc.
Specific (Exercise 2): Overall animation has the flow and smooth, but tail in the first bounce not much flow or connection and can but redone for a better flow through of the tail.
Week 4 - 14/10/2024
Specific (Exercise 2): Only first bounce tail is not connected, remaining of the animation is good.
REFLECTION
Week 2 - 30/09/2024
Reflecting on the first exercise given by Mr Kamal, it was something new for me to explore the fundamentals of animation and learning the different functions and navigation throughout an unfamiliar software. There was not much difficulties faced through the exercise as I was able to complete the exercise with Mr Kamal's guidance. Through this exercise, I was able to understand the timing, spacing, applying ars, slow in and slow out in an animation which is crucial in the following classes in order to advance my skill set.
Week 3 - 07/10/2024
In Week 3, feedback were provided by Mr Kamal for the Exercise 1 animation which allow us to improve and produce a better outcome of our animation. My experience throughout this week's class was very exciting and challenging as I am inexperience in this field of expertise. At the beginning of Exercise 2, it was a bit challenging in familiarizing myself around the software to create the squash and stretch effect and timing as well as the tail animation of the ball. Along the process and guidance of Mr Kamal, I was able to gradually to work more efficiently to complete this exercise. All in all, I was able to learn and refine my skills in animating which will benefit me in my future career and as a designer.
