All voice recordings applies noise reduction with "s", "p" and any exaggerated readings individually adjusted.
4. Editing/Mix
a, VO
Direction/Position of Track.
As mentioned in the feedback provided by Mr Razif, below listed is the
L/R/Centered of each characters in the story.
Narrator : Centered
Witch : R - Dialogues with Gretel & Others; L - Dialogues with Hansel
Hansel : R
Gretel : L
Mother : L
All background music throughout the mix are also slightly off-centered.
b. Sfx
Overall Sfx are individually and entirely examined to adjust the volume of
each track to clearly define the foreground, midground and background sfx of
the entire track.
Pan is added to certain tracks to create a variation within the mix as
elaborated in the process below.

FEEDBACK
Week 9 - 17/06/2025
- Story is fine as long as it does not exceed 3 minutes
- Ensure your recording space is set up reduce as much noise as possible
Week 10 - 24/06/2025
- noise reduction especially tracks with emphasized “p” sounds etc
- the elements of the mix is there but it sounds messy because of the recordings panning left and right; convert stereo tracks to mono if the panning is there
- overall track is too loud, ensure the narrator is louder than all the other dialogue (anchor) to create the hierarchy of the tracks
- bgm should not be centered but slightly off centered, current mix of bgm just gives space for the bgm to stand out
- vo dialogue can be slightly off centered/left/right
overall feedback : vo recordings and overall mix is not balance because of the track volume

REFLECTION
Reflecting on my progress throughout this project, I have learned
skills relating to sonic design in terms of how to work more
professionally especially working with so many tracks. With the
demonstration by Mr Razif, it was really insightful to also pick up
skills to work more efficiently and even new skills relating to sonic
design such as the different effects around Audition. It was really an
exciting experience while completing this project as not only was I able
to go back into the knowledge picked up from previous modules and
refining it but even further improve my knowledge in sonic design. I
personally enjoy working around audio related projects and it was really
fun to learn a new skill as a design student. Throughout this project,
I've gained technical skills and even refined my skills and knowledge in
sonic design. Besides these technical skills, I was also able to refine
other soft skills such as organizing the tracks, the per-preparation to
ensure a smooth workflow of the project. All in all, it was a huge
learning journey for me throughout this project and also an opportunity
to gain skills that will be helpful for me in my future career and
individually as a person.
